GENERAL SUMMARY
The Program Manager, Mental Health Research, is the core research scientist in the mental health research program. The individual will oversee the Mental Health Research Center and identify and pursue research priorities. By implementing research initiatives, developing grant proposals, and supporting programmatic quality initiatives, this individual will support the key elements of the Mental Health Research Program. Reports to department leadership.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Serves as a subject-matter expert on all issues related to mental health research.
Sets team priorities and strategic goals for mental health research program.
Collaborates with key stakeholders and the mental health research leadership team to identify research priorities.
Leads collaborative efforts with community partners.
Develops investigator-initiated research projects, including submitting grant proposals, implementing the project, and disseminating findings.
Maintains and analyzes mental health clinical program data and Quality Improvement (QI) projects.
Assesses opportunities for eliminating disparities in mental health programs and research.
Leads the mental health family advisory council.
Provides oversight to Research Coordinator and Research Assistants; prioritizes work and oversees projects to completion.
Teaches team members the principles of QI.
Outcomes:
Develops and submits successfully funded grant proposals.
Publications and presentations related to research projects.
Sustains effective partnerships with outside collaborators.
Grant Development:
Participates in the development of grant proposals and manages grant related projects for the Mental Health Service Line.
Works closely with the CHKD Development Office and Director, Research to assist in identifying other programmatic funding opportunities.
Reports to Children's Health Foundation board and other funders as requested.
Performs other duties as assigned.

MINIMUM EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS
Required Education and Experience
Master's degree from an accredited college or university in healthcare delivery or related field required.
3 years or more working experience in a public health and/or clinical setting as a researcher or academic clinician required.
At time of hire, a record of completion for all education, licenses, training and/or certifications is required.

PhD preferred
Required Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
In-depth knowledge of data aggregation, database management, and research methods.
Professional knowledge of healthcare delivery and/or child mental health.
Robust analytical skills and competencies to understand statistical significance across large datasets.
Capacity to collect information and cohesively integrate into an organized format for executive-level and community presentations.
Strong organizational skills with a demonstrated ability to manage projects and events from conception through completion, attention to detail and commitment to accuracy.
Excellent time skills with the ability to meet deadlines and plan, set and shift priorities in a fast-paced, fluid environment.
Possesses strong verbal, written, and interpersonal skills as well as, the ability to interact with and build collegial relationships with diverse individuals.
Demonstrated ability to work in a team and in multidisciplinary group settings while being able to work independently as necessary.
Proficient in word processing, spreadsheet, and presentation software such as Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Access, PowerPoint, and Outlook) with the ability to learn statistical software (e.g., Statistical Package for the Social Sciences - SPSS).
WORKING CONDITIONS
Normal office environment with little exposure to excessive noise, dust, temperature and the like.
