Emerge is actively recruiting for an exciting new position for a Plant Controller with a fantastic client company in Hampton, Virginia. The Plant Controller will act as a business partner to the management team, driving compliance, optimizing profitability and free cash flow. This position reports to the Plant Manager for the plant with a dotted line to the Business Unit Segment Controller.

The Plant Controller will direct the operation of Information Systems, Procurement, and Accounting to provide adequate manufacturing systems, with additional responsibilities.

Essential Roles & Responsibilities include:

1. Identify key levers to drive business improvement and provide leadership to ensure implementation of business improvement opportunities.
2. In partnership with plant leadership, work on achieving targeted goals for performance measures of quality, productivity, delivery, cycle time, inventory optimization, and profitability.
3. Determine, in conjunction with plant management, targeted goals for performance measures of quality, productivity, delivery, cycle time, inventory optimization, and profitability.
4. Deploy business unit initiatives.
5. Forecast, analyze and plan business results.
6. Ensure compliance with company and business unit financial reporting requirements.
7. Analyze data for decision making and tracking of performance progress.
8. Coordinate the capital appropriation process and post-project reviews.
9. Ensure completion of Sarbanes-Oxley requirements for internal controls.
10. Supervise a team of Finance professionals.
11. Drive year over year cost reduction initiatives/step-change improvements.
12. Manage and implement efficient and effective daily management/forecasting/budgeting systems, tools, and processes.
13. Accurately forecast and plan results to meet expectations of shareholders and stakeholders.
14. Review financial statements and account reconciliations with follow up and corrective action as needed.
15. Provide clear and concise communication on location results in comparison to forecast, plan, and performance objectives.
16. Provide financial leadership for evaluation of projects, plans, and investments.
17. Assure accurate, current, and complete information for client contracts.
18. Comply with APP and location policies, procedures, and reporting requirements.
19. Accountable for the validity of location financial statements and representations.
20. Develop and follow standard work to ensure location, business unit, and corporate deadlines are met.
21. Perform job duties in a safe and efficient manner and promote a safe work environment.

Qualifications

1. Bachelor's degree in business administration or accounting.
2. At least 5-7 years of related financial/controllership work experience, with at least 5 years in a manufacturing environment.
3. Supervisory experience.

Skills and abilities:

1. Advanced Excel and PowerPoint skills.
2. Qualified accountant - CPA, CMA and/or MBA desirable.
3. Outstanding communication, leadership, and teamwork skills.
4. Strong analytical and decision-making skills.
5. High proficiency in using MS Office and ERP software, experience in using queries, including Essbase, Hyperion, Oracle, or similar systems.
6. Strong organizational skills in relation to managing multiple projects with tight deadlines in a high pressure/high intensity environment.
7. Strong cost accounting skills - Multi Level Routing and Bill of Material Cost Accounting experience.
8. Ability to dig for details and work on challenging projects.
9. Strong leadership and presentation skills with the ability to effectively present forecast and monthly performance results to plant and business unit leadership.
10. Ability to communicate complex financial information in an easy-to-understand manner to non-financial personnel.
