Our Site Leader is responsible for all budgetary, people development, and operational objectives. The Site Leader oversees all aspects of operations at the site, including managing and leading a team of Operations and Area Managers. Responsibilities also include coaching and mentoring the team to meet performance objectives, building positive employee relations, and developing leadership bench strength within the Fulfillment Center.

Responsibilities

  1. Drive the creation of quality initiatives, process change initiatives, and other Lean initiatives to enable the functional area and the FC to meet and exceed business plans.
  2. Ensure the overall safety, quality, performance, and customer experience of either Inbound or Outbound operations.
  3. Set and clarify requirements and expectations for Operations and Area Managers. Measure performance, provide feedback, and hold Managers accountable for their performance and their departments.
  4. Leverage the Operations and Area Managers by sourcing and nurturing ideas, and integrating them into improvement plans.
  5. Share best practices across all departments, shifts, and the network proactively.
  6. Collaborate with support staff (HR, Finance, Facilities, Safety, IT, and other Sr. Operations Managers) to secure support and resources for projects and initiatives, as well as provide support for staff initiatives.

Additional Job Elements

  • Lift and move totes up to 49 pounds each.
  • Perform bending, lifting, stretching, and reaching both below the waist and above the head.
  • Walk frequently in the FC and around the area, which may be over a quarter mile in length.
  • Stand and walk an average of 5 miles daily.
  • Work in environments that may be noisy, unlit, unheated, or not air-conditioned.
  • Access all areas of the building safely, including ascending and descending ladders, stairs, and gangways.

Basic Qualifications

  • Bachelor's Degree from an accredited university or 2+ years of Amazon work experience.
  • 7+ years of direct management experience in a manufacturing, production, or distribution environment, managing a salaried workforce.
  • Experience with performance metrics, process improvement, and Lean techniques.
  • Experience with staffing lifecycle including interviewing, hiring, performance management, promotions, and terminations.
  • Flexibility to work various hours, including overnight, weekends, and holidays.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Degree in Engineering, Operations, or related field; MBA preferred.
  • Experience managing a contingent workforce during peak seasons.
  • Ability to adapt to changing priorities and handle stressful situations with good judgment.
  • Interest in long-term career development through assignments in multiple FCs across the nation.
