Executive Meeting Manager - Hilton Norfolk The Main

Description:

The EMM is responsible for managing a high volume of inquiries promptly, making telephone and outside sales calls, generating site inspections, and booking all group-related business of 25 room nights or less on peak, including but not limited to corporate, local volume accounts, SMERF, relocation, government, military, training, and local demand generator sourced business (e.g., hospitals, schools, nursing, and catering facilities).

Responsibilities

  • Establish lead sources for each targeted market segment and make initial sales solicitations.
  • Prospect and penetrate additional group business regardless of the size of the room block, as assigned by the Director of Sales & Marketing.
  • Create and maintain sales files for clients, including weekly/monthly reporting on bookings and call activity.
  • Utilize Delphi as a lead log for follow-up and client call tracking systems.
  • Work closely with the Reservations Manager to fill periods of soft demand during off-peak and shoulder seasons, obtaining rate and stay approvals prior to finalizing sales contracts.
  • Network with affiliated PHR hotels and competitive hotels for lead source generation.
  • Adhere to approved selling activity quotas and report progress to the DOS weekly and monthly.
  • Respond to all franchise-generated group leads.
  • Obtain rate and restriction approvals from the DOS and/or Director of Revenue Management before extending group sales agreements to clients.
  • Process all group sales contracts and ensure booking details are thoroughly communicated with Reservations and Operations.
  • Generate a specified number of client site inspections each week.
  • Participate in sales blitz programs with PHR and franchise-related teams locally and in feeder markets.
  • Develop and implement creative sales strategies based on analyzing historical, current, and future trends and booking patterns.
  • Establish and maintain relationships with travel managers and contacts identified as potential sources of business.
  • Attend daily Business Review meetings and weekly one-on-ones with the Director of Sales & Marketing.
  • Collaborate with lead-producing organizations such as CVBs, chambers of commerce, and trade associations.

Qualifications

  • Prior experience in sales or hotel operations within an upscale full-service hotel environment.
  • Sound interpersonal and communication skills.
  • Ability to work independently and be self-motivated.
  • Strong multi-tasking and organizational skills.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Some college education required.
