Position Overview

The Millwork Carpenter at Nicewood Enterprises, Inc. is an entry-level to advanced-level carpentry role focused on reading drawings, gathering components and materials, and assembling fixtures based on plans in our Millwork plant. You'll work with various materials to create products like shelving, panel systems, and trim work. While finish or trim carpentry experience is a plus, it's not required-we provide full training to develop your skills. This role is different from framing carpentry, emphasizing precision and quality in a manufacturing setting.

What You'll Be Doing

  • Review drawings and plans to understand assembly tasks, with support from supervisors.
  • Gather components, materials, tools, and hardware from inventory as directed.
  • Prepare workstations for assembly under guidance.
  • Assemble fixtures like shelving, panel systems, and trim work using hand tools, power tools, and basic fastening methods (e.g., nails, screws, glue), with training provided.
  • Perform quality checks with team support to ensure products meet standards.
  • Work with teammates to address challenges and maintain production flow.
  • Keep work areas clean and safe, including proper waste disposal and tool care.
  • Complete basic documentation as trained and perform other tasks as assigned.
  • Help track inventory by reporting low stock levels.
Experience Preferred
  • High school diploma or equivalent preferred but not required.
  • Any carpentry experience (e.g., home projects, construction, or woodworking) is welcome; no minimum years required.
  • Finish or trim carpentry experience is a plus but not necessary.
  • Basic math skills for measurements; ability to learn measuring tools.
General/Additional Responsibilities
  • Willingness to work in indoor conditions with exposure to dust, noise, and temperature changes typical of a millwork plant.
  • Ability to stand for long periods, lift up to 50 pounds, and perform repetitive tasks involving bending, reaching, and fine motor skills.
  • Must pass a background check and drug screening; random drug testing may be administered.
  • Ability to follow safety procedures and learn safety protocols.
  • Reports to the Millwork Plant Supervisor and collaborates with the production team.

MUST HAVE THE DESIRE TO UNDERSTAND, ADAPT AND PROMOTE NICEWOOD'S CULTURE AND ETHOS AND BE AN AMBASSADOR FOR THE COMPANY AT ALL TIMES.

Nicewood Enterprises, Inc. is an equal opportunity employer committed to fostering a diverse and inclusive workplace. We encourage applications from all qualified individuals, especially those ready to grow their carpentry skills.
