Overview: We are currently hiring a scheduler with ship repair experience specifically for an opportunity in Norfolk, VA. The scheduler will perform duties as lead scheduler for a CNO availability with no guidance, may lead more than one CNO availability. Review project contract documents and drawings to determine project scope and schedule development. Generate schedule related proposal documents. Organize scope into major categories to outline deliverables and milestones. Sequence major work priorities into a logical schedule. Determine critical paths that anchor the overall project completion date. Create Work Breakdown Structure for all new work orders. Understand the work specification, drawings, and troubleshoot all scheduling programs and deliverables. Train schedulers on processes and products as related to scheduling department for growth. Determine work flow, with trade support. Initially schedule all projects prior to the project being definitized with the customer. Perform initial and final resourcing (assigning shops) as the project is scheduled. Use estimates to assign hours to activities. Attend the schedule review held with production, trade, and estimating personnel. Report progress of scheduling as the project is being built. Recognize company-needs and offer solutions based on experience gained. Perform all scheduler principal responsibilities.
Marine experience, specifically ship repair. Proficiency in Primavera (P6). Naval Sea Systems Command (NAVSEA) standard items. Ship repair, overhaul, and modernization processes and procedures. Repair and modernization Work Breakdown Structure (WBS) philosophy. Knowledgeable of Microsoft Office products and technical proficient in the use of scheduling software. Must be proficient in activity definition, activity sequencing, critical path analysis, resource loading, and resource leveling. Must possess strong ability to develop master plans and detailed tactical schedules. Must be familiar with estimating, and contractual methods and processes in a government environment. Ability to follow instructions and a willingness to learn.
