Saint John the Apostle Catholic School seeks an innovative, experienced, and collaborative Physical Education and Health Teacher for the 2025-2026 Academic year.

Candidates should possess a desire to work in a Christ-centered school, where faith and reason work together, experience in working with early learners, elementary, and middle school students, effectively teach and engage students, and be committed to the mission of Catholic schools. The candidate must have experience in the relevant academic content for Physical Education and Health, capable of guiding students through activity-based instructional approaches such as fine and gross motor skills, physical fitness, healthy active life choices, and guided group activities.

The candidate must be capable of working collaboratively with colleagues, have experience using 21st century technology tools, use student centered instructional strategies and a desire to help students understand the depth and beauty of God's creation.

Requirements

Qualifications:

• Requires a minimum of a bachelor's degree in an approved program; general physical education
• Classroom experience minimum of 2 years preferred
• 1st Aid/AED/CPR certified; able to become certified within 45 days of hire
• Computer literate and technologically proficient.
• Ability to communicate using electronic mail, telephone, and in person with parents and colleagues
• Highly organized and motivated.
• Must be eligible for teacher licensure in Virginia.

Start Date: 2025-2026 School Year (beginning August 11, 2025)

Salary/Hours: Diocesan salary scale/ Hours (40hrs./week)
