Description

The Technician role is suited for a highly self-motivated individual who is ready to work in a fast-paced environment. The primary responsibility of the Technician will be the creation of mechanical drawings, Bills of Material and related technical documentation using Solidworks software to support the engineering group in the quoting, design and fabrication process.

Drafter Responsibilities:

• Handle complex designing and drafting assignments under minimal supervision.
• Create drawings and models from written and verbal specifications obtained from Engineers.
• Work with Engineers regarding model accuracy, design, drafting standards and design documentation.
• Work closely with Engineers to ensure coordinated effort is maintained.
• Complete project responsibilities within scope, budget and schedule.
• Review drawings for completeness and accuracy.
• Maintain all revisions of project drawings.
• Develop 3D models by analyzing prototypes and 2D drawings.
• Examine and check engineering drawings for compliance with cited specifications.
• Provide timely technical assistance and solutions to the team.
• Participate in project meetings and conference calls as required.
• Prepare engineering documents for customer submittal.

• High proficiency in Solidworks product design software
• Ability to develop design layouts in 2D and 3D drawings
• Knowledge of Microsoft Office Applications
• Ability to work under pressure with deadlines while having to multi-task multiple priorities

• Ability to read and understand blueprints

• Associate's degree in computer-aided drafting and design, engineering technology or similar technical degree
• A minimum of two years' experience
• Knowledge of manufacturing processes and how it relates to design
• Hands on experience with 3D modeling tools such as Auto CAD and Inventor
