MACHINIST III - Day Shift

Contract Opportunity
$45.00 per hour + weekly per diem & travel bonus

Saxon is seeking an experienced CNC Machinist for a contract role supporting a leading manufacturing facility. This position requires precision machining expertise, strong blueprint interpretation skills, and a commitment to quality and safety.

Key Responsibilities

• Set up and operate CNC lathes, vertical mills, and related equipment
• Machine parts to exact specifications using complex blueprints and work orders
• Perform threading, boring, facing, turning, grooving, and contouring operations
• Inspect parts using precision measuring tools (micrometers, calipers, indicators, etc.)
• Document quality data and perform routine machine maintenance
• Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work area
• Collaborate with engineering, quality, and production teams to resolve issues

• High school diploma or equivalent; technical training or apprenticeship preferred
• 5+ years of CNC machining experience in a production or job shop environment
• Strong knowledge of machining processes, tooling, shop math, and G & M codes
• Proficient in reading engineering drawings and GD&T
• Experience machining ferrous and non-ferrous metals (plastics a plus)
• Strong attention to detail and ability to work independently

• Competitive hourly pay (based on experience)
• $500 travel bonus
