OVERVIEW

The primary purpose of the maintenance technician is to perform a variety of duties including the installation, troubleshooting, repair and maintenance of production and facility equipment to support a lean and efficient manufacturing operation.

PRINCIPLE DUTIES

• Conduct preventative maintenance on plant production equipment and support systems and respond to emergency repairs as needed.
• Operate shop equipment including hand/power tools, measuring devices and material handling equipment as needed.
• Perform a variety of plumbing, electrical and carpentry installation and repairs.
• Fabrication of equipment to improve its overall safety for users.

EXPERIENCE, KNOWLEDGE & SKILLS

• Profound knowledge of hydraulic, electrical, and mechanical equipment
• Preventative Maintenance, follow planned maintenance schedule to keep equipment in optimal working order.
• Troubleshooting: use skill to identify and solve complex problems, often involving electrical and mechanical issues.
• Ability to read and understand technical manuals, blueprints, and schematics.
• Competence with a wide range of tools, from hand and power tools to precision measuring instruments and electronic testing devices.
• 3-5 years of industrial maintenance experience preferred.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills including public speaking.
• Organizational skills and ability to prioritize work. Able to follow and give directions as required.
• Experience with hydraulic and pneumatic air systems
• Experience with industrial electrical and electronic repairs
• Understanding of plant production equipment and building support systems.
• Prior maintenance of lathes, surface grinders, drill presses, milling machines, power and manual hand tools

EDUCATION

• High school diploma required.
• Associate's degree or higher preferred.
• MS Office software.
