Position Overview

Senior production control lead supporting Aircraft Carrier Readiness Support (ACRS) for Commander, Naval Air Forces (CNAF). Responsible for executing production control services that deliver reliable schedule/progress visibility and traceable production records for aircraft carrier maintenance and modernization efforts. Provides production-facing configuration/SCD support (including Standard SCD database actions and ship sheet/SCD package outputs) to enable readiness decision-making for assigned carrier work.

Responsibilities

  • Lead day-to-day production control execution for ship maintenance/modernization, ensuring disciplined planning-to-execution progressing and progress tracking.

  • Establish and maintain a production control reporting rhythm (daily/weekly), including production logs, trackers, and progress metrics.

  • Maintain production status visibility across work items; identify constraints, schedule impacts, and readiness risks; elevate issues through appropriate channels.

  • Support availability planning artifacts (progressing/scheduling/funding support documentation) needed to execute assigned ship availabilities.

  • Coordinate installation sequencing and schedule alignment with ship's force, Government representatives, and supporting maintenance activities.

  • Execute ship alteration/configuration production support, including Standard SCD database updates and ship alteration programming change support.

  • Prepare required production control outputs such as ship sheet reports, availability/S/A packages, and SCD packages that reflect current scope, schedule, and status.

  • Ensure production data integrity and traceability across stakeholders, maintaining accurate records suitable for audits and leadership reporting.

Qualifications

Minimum

  • U.S. Citizen; able to obtain and maintain required access credentials and comply with site/ship access processes (CAC, DBIDS as applicable).

  • Able to maintain a SECRET clearance when duties require access to classified material/secure areas; able to maintain favorable status for CUI/NIPR access as applicable.

  • Demonstrated shipyard/waterfront production planning and production control experience in ship maintenance/modernization environments, including aircraft carrier work.

  • Experience at or above the PWS “Overhaul Specialist” baseline: 10+ years ship operations/maintenance/repair/testing experience, including 6+ years on aircraft carriers in planning/production/management or monitoring of ship overhauls/availabilities.

  • Proven ability to execute a production control cadence that produces required deliverables (daily reporting, logs, trackers) with traceable production records.

  • Demonstrated experience supporting ship availability work packages and ship alteration programming changes, including Standard SCD database updates and preparation of ship sheet reports/SCD packages.

  • Ability to perform work on-site at Government facilities and onboard aircraft carriers, including travel/TDY as required.

  • Ability to complete and maintain required training for routine physical access and OPSEC requirements (initial and annual refreshers).

Preferred

  • Prior direct experience producing/managing carrier availability daily production reports, progress metrics, and production logs aligned to production control services expectations.

  • Prior experience coordinating SCD-related updates and maintaining production/configuration data integrity across ship's force, Government, and maintenance activities.
