Schedule: Full-Time, Day and Night Shifts Available (every other weekend)About Us

The Hoy Center at Westminster-Canterbury on Chesapeake Bay takes a holistic approach to skilled nursing care and aging. Our person-centric living aligns the delivery of care with individual needs and preferences. The Hoy features home-like, comfortable settings, which we call Lighthouses, each with a family room and e-concept kitchen. These modern and open private rooms are comfortable, well-appointed and tastefully designed. The Lighthouses include the Rose Island, Mission Point, Point Lookout, Cape Henry and Point Roberts.

Residents on each floor enjoy breathtaking views and refreshing ocean breezes on three spacious and striking outdoor terraces, we call Observation Decks. The Fletcher Prayer Room, which provides a dedicated, peaceful sanctuary for contemplation and prayer is also available to our residents.

The Housekeeper is responsible for maintaining a clean, safe, and welcoming living environment for Westminster-Canterbury residents. This role focuses on the routine cleaning and upkeep of residents' on-site apartments while respecting privacy, dignity, and individual preferences. Housekeepers are also responsible for the cleanliness of the campus common areas and performs general housekeeping in all residential areas, indoor and outdoor activity areas, etc.

What You'll Do In This Role:
  • Perform cleaning functions in assigned areas following established schedules and using prescribed methods:
    • Empty and clean waste cans and reline.
    • High dust horizontal surfaces.
    • Dry and damp mop floors of rooms and offices.
    • Damp wipe all furniture
    • Clean and polish metal and porcelain fixtures in bathrooms.
    • Spot clean walls, windows and polish metal surfaces
    • Replenish room supplies
    • Make beds and perform check out cleaning as assigned.
    • Spot clean carpets as assigned.
  • Assist in cleaning of emergency spills observed or requested.
  • Sanitizing areas after bio hazard or body fluids have been removed by nursing staff.
  • Maintain assigned equipment for cleanliness and repair when needed.
  • Observe and report repairs needed on furniture, building and fixtures.
  • All other duties as assigned.

Physical Requirements:
  • Must be able to climb at least 2 flights of stairs and be able to stand and/or walk for period of time.
  • Must be able to perform job responsibilities with pets present
  • Will use cleaning devices including 12oz. wet mops, small wringers and household vacuum cleaners.
  • Prolonged standing and walking required. Will have to bend, kneel, stoop and reach to perform cleaning tasks.
  • Hands may be in contact with cleaning chemicals.
  • Must be able to lift up to 30 pounds.
The Experience You'll Bring:

Required
  • Must be able to demonstrate correct use of cleaning supplies and equipment.

Preferred
  • High School Diploma
  • Prior Housekeeping experience.
