Responsibilities:

  1. Provide personalized dementia care, including assistance with daily activities such as bathing, dressing, grooming, and transitioning to programs and meals according to each resident's care plan.
  2. Engage with team members and participate in discussions regarding behavior expression and care plans.
  3. Stay informed about residents' life stories, preferences, and interests to enhance personalized care.
  4. Serve meals in a respectful and engaging manner, encouraging proper nutrition and hydration.
  5. Lead or participate in daily engagement programs that promote social interaction and connections among residents.
  6. Maintain accurate daily records of residents' care, habits, and any changes in condition.
  7. Assist with medication management when permitted by state regulations, ensuring compliance with policies and procedures.
  8. Keep residents' living spaces clean, safe, and welcoming through regular housekeeping duties.
  9. Respond to emergencies and residents' requests promptly and professionally.
  10. Monitor residents' locations and report any concerns to supervisors immediately.
  11. Promote teamwork and collaborative relationships with co-workers.

Qualifications:

High school diploma or GED preferred, with experience in direct service for older adults living with dementia. Knowledge of dementia care is a plus.

Physical Demands:

  • Ability to stand, walk, sit, and perform various physical tasks.
  • Comfortable lifting up to 50 pounds.
  • Willingness to work flexible hours as needed.
