Position Summary

The Front Desk Receptionist serves as the first point of contact for individuals seeking services at the 23-Hour Crisis StabilizationProgram. This role is responsible for maintaining a safe, professional, and organized front-of-house environment while supporting intake flow, visitor management, and administrative coordination.

The receptionist plays a critical role in supporting a trauma-informed, person-centered environment by ensuring all clients, visitors, and community partners are greeted with professionalism, dignity, and respect.

Primary Responsibilities

Front Desk & Client Reception

Greet clients, visitors, law enforcement, EMS, and community partners professionally.

Monitor and control facility entry in accordance with safety protocols.

Notify clinical staff of client arrivals and coordinate intake flow.

Maintain visitor logs and ensure proper sign-in/sign-out procedures.

Administrative Support

Answer and route incoming phone calls appropriately.

Provide general program information while maintaining confidentiality.

Scan, file, and manage intake documentation.

Maintain accurate census tracking logs.

Support data entry into electronic health record (EHR) systems as assigned.

Safety & Compliance

Ensure lobby remains orderly and secure.

Immediately report safety concerns to clinical or security staff.

Follow HIPAA confidentiality guidelines at all times.

Maintain professional boundaries in a behavioral health setting.

Customer Service & Crisis Sensitivity

Remain calm and professional in high-stress situations.

Demonstrate empathy and non-judgmental communication.

Support de-escalation efforts by promptly alerting appropriate staff.

Qualifications

Required:

High school diploma or GED.

Minimum 1 year of front desk, administrative, or customer service experience.

Strong verbal communication and organizational skills.

Ability to work in a fast-paced behavioral health environment.

Basic computer proficiency.

Preferred:

Experience in healthcare, behavioral health, or crisis settings.

Knowledge of HIPAA regulations.

Work Environment

This position is located in a behavioral health crisis stabilization setting. The receptionist may encounter individuals experiencing emotional or behavioral distress and must remain composed and professional at all times.

Shifts may include holidays.
