NOW HIRING: HUMAN RESOURCES MANAGER IN NORFOLK, VA!

Looking for an experienced Human Resources professional ready to make an impact? The Lee Group is seeking a detail-oriented and driven Human Resources Manager to support one of our valued clients in Norfolk, VA. This is a 4-5 month contract position supporting key HR functions and daily operations.

Pay: $23.34/hour

Schedule: Monday-Friday, standard business hours

The Human Resources Manager will support a variety of HR functions including employee relations, onboarding, benefits administration, compliance, and HRIS management. This role requires strong organizational skills, attention to detail, and the ability to work effectively in a fast-paced, team-oriented environment. Responsibilities:

  • Process personnel actions including new hires, promotions, transfers, and terminations
  • Coordinate onboarding and orientation for new employees
  • Administer employee benefits and track eligibility changes
  • Support leave administration including FMLA and workers' compensation
  • Maintain accurate employee records and ensure confidentiality
  • Assist with HRIS system usage, reporting, and data management
  • Collaborate with accounting to verify payroll and deductions
  • Support compliance reporting including ACA, EEO1, and training requirements
  • Participate in recruiting, retention, and employee engagement initiatives
  • Provide guidance to supervisors and staff on HR-related matters
  • Assist with safety initiatives and return-to-work programs
  • Attend meetings and contribute to HR projects and process improvements
Qualifications:
  • Strong organizational and time management skills
  • Ability to maintain confidentiality and handle sensitive information
  • Effective communication skills, both written and verbal
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office and general office systems
  • Ability to work independently and within a team environment
  • Experience with HRIS systems preferred
  • Knowledge of recruitment, retention, and HR best practices
  • Ability to type at least 50 words per minute
  • Valid driver's license required
Working Conditions:
  • Office environment with typical noise levels and interruptions
  • Requires sitting, standing, and working at a computer for extended periods
  • May assist with occasional administrative or operational tasks as needed
