Marine Electrician Technician II

Avail Staffing is actively seeking a Marine Electrician Technician II with a strong background in shipboard electrical systems. This position is ideal for a motivated individual with intermediate-level expertise in marine electrical installations, troubleshooting, and repair. Key responsibilities include:

• Install, maintain, and repair shipboard electrical equipment and wiring in accordance with NAVSEA standards
• Interpret and work from electrical schematics, blueprints, and work packages
• Run and terminate cabling, install lighting, switches, motors, controllers, and circuit protection
• Conduct continuity checks, insulation resistance tests, and ensure grounding compliance
• Support the setup and testing of control panels and electrical distribution systems
• Work safely in confined spaces, elevated areas, and active shipyard environments
• Collaborate with other trades to ensure efficient and high-quality work

Qualifications:

• 24 years of experience as a Marine Electrician in shipyard or naval vessel environments
• Familiar with MIL-SPEC standards and NAVSEA drawing interpretation
• Strong understanding of AC/DC electrical systems and marine cableway practices
• Experience with cable pulling, terminations, testing, and troubleshooting
• Must pass background check and drug screening
• OSHA 10 Maritime, DBIDS preferred or ability to obtain
• Ability to lift up to 50 lbs, work in confined spaces, and stand for extended periods
