Job Title: Litigation Paralegal

Employment Type: Full-time, Direct Hire

Work Site: Option for hybrid (2 days WFH) after 90 days on-site for training

Location: Virginia Beach, VA


The Paralegal supports an expanding litigation team focused on consumer financial matters. This role involves working closely with designated attorneys, client files, and special assignments. The position includes an annual billable hours expectation of 1500 hours.


Key Responsibilities:

  • Perform legal research using digital research services and databases.
  • Review, interpret, and condense information from legal authorities including judicial decisions, statutes, regulations, scholarly writings, and other relevant materials.
  • Access and gather case-related data through federal and state court systems and reporting tools.
  • Utilize litigation support and document review platforms to manage case materials, including running searches, uploading transcripts, and categorizing records.
  • Provide support in deposition preparation, including assembling organized reference materials.
  • Maintain and organize case files by storing pleadings, correspondence, discovery, transcripts, and related documents in internal or client systems in a timely manner.
  • Prepare documents for production, including organizing, labeling, and applying numbering conventions.
  • Review high-volume document sets to identify and organize key information.
  • Categorize and index materials by topic, issue, or timeline for ease of access.
  • Assist with trial readiness by helping prepare required filings, organizing exhibits, and coordinating logistics for trial support spaces.
  • Obtain records from public sources, including government agencies and online repositories.
  • Prepare summaries of depositions and other legal materials when needed.
  • Draft routine legal documents relevant to the practice area.
  • Carry out assignments as directed by supervising attorneys or practice group leadership.
  • Ensure all work complies with applicable professional and ethical standards.
  • Follow detailed instructions and manage complex tasks efficiently.
  • Monitor timelines and ensure deadlines are consistently met.
  • Balance multiple assignments simultaneously while maintaining accuracy.
  • Collaborate effectively with colleagues across teams and offices.
  • Support the onboarding and development of junior paralegal staff in standard procedures.
  • Maintain organized and up-to-date case files within the firm's document systems.
  • Accurately record both billable and non-billable time in accordance with firm expectations.
  • Communicate proactively regarding workload and deadlines.

Education and Experience:

  • Undergraduate degree required.
  • Significant experience (approximately 8+ years) in a litigation-focused paralegal role.
  • Formal paralegal training or certification preferred.
