Project Manager (Mechanical, Electrical, or Plumbing)
Location: Baltimore, MD or Norfolk, VA
Hybrid: 3 days onsite, 2 days WFH
Salary Range: $120-$150K+ (based on experience level)

Position summary
The Project Manager leads MEP consulting projects from initiation through closeout, owning scope, fee, schedule, and client communication. This role manages a multi-discipline team, maintains project controls, and ensures deliverables meet internal QA/QC standards. You will also support growth through proposals and by identifying follow-on work with existing clients.
Minimum qualifications
- BS in Engineering or equivalent
- Active PE license
- 5+ years in consulting engineering across varied projects
- Prior experience as a Project Manager owning scope, schedule, and budget
Key responsibilities
Project initiation
- Partner with leadership to establish the project team and define roles
- Produce project initiation documents including detailed scope outline, budget, and milestone schedule
- Identify delivery risks early and align mitigation plans with the team and client
Project execution and controls
- Lead implementation to ensure work aligns to approved scope and schedule
- Maintain project status reporting systems with real-time actions, changes, and decisions
- Drive internal coordination across disciplines and resolve conflicts impacting schedule
- Keep the client informed through a clear communication cadence and decision tracking
- Ensure QA/QC steps and review workflows are followed for all deliverables
- Oversee production of high-quality reports and presentations aligned to scope and standards
Financial performance
- Control project costs for time, travel, and reimbursables
- Track fee burn, forecast variances, and take corrective action early
- Issue and manage change notices for scope and budget adjustments
- Maximize profitability through resource planning, budgeting discipline, and cost controls
Team leadership
- Lead, support, and develop project staff
- Evaluate performance, identify strengths and gaps, and coach for growth
