A Forestry Crew Leader is the lead member of a 3 person crew made up of a crew leader, Tree Trimmer II and Tree Trimmer I and/or Equipment Operator which prunes, removes and stump grinds public trees. The Forestry Crew Leader reports to the Forestry Supervisor, maintains all required paperwork, and enters daily work performed in a log book. Arboricultural skills, customer service skills, organizational skills, and safety practices are applied to complete assigned tasks, communicate with customers, complete required paperwork, and lead the crew to safely and efficiently complete daily workload.
Department Starting Hiring Salary: $46,589
Essential functions include but are not limited to:
High school diploma required. Work requires knowledge of a specific vocational or technical nature. An associate's degree, or equivalent from a college, technical, business, vocational, or correspondence school preferred. Three years experience in professional tree care required. Three years of supervisory experience preferred or any combination of education beyond high school and experience.
Preferred License(s) and/or Certification(s):
Virginia Driver's License, required.
Virginia Commercial Driver's License, Class B required upon hiring.
Virginia Commercial Pesticide Technician License preferred, required within 6 months of employment
CPR/First Aid Certification preferred, required within 6 months of employment
ISA Certified Tree Climber
