Key ResponsibilitiesRepresent insured individuals and the Company in defending bodily injury, property damage lawsuits, subrogation, and Allstate Financial cases.Prepare thoroughly for and conduct hearings, trials, arbitrations, mediations, and depositions.Prepare and present pre‑ and post‑trial motions effectively.Resolve calendar conflicts with colleagues collaboratively.Offer counsel to business clients on day‑to‑day legal matters.Manage projects efficiently; coordinate and collaborate among legal teams.Keep abreast of new laws, regulations, and case law; identify and summarize relevant issues; collaborate with other areas of the L & R department; provide proactive advice and counsel to business units; monitor legal representation.Education & QualificationsJuris Doctorate and active membership in good standing with the Virginia State Bar.3+ years of proven litigation experience or strong litigation‑type skills with ability to manage complex disputes and work under pressure.First or second chair jury trial experience preferred.Proven experience with insurance defense preferred.Proficiency in Microsoft Office, LexisNexis (preferred), internet research.Strong teamwork skills, able to collaborate effectively with attorneys, paralegals, and administrative assistants under the guidance of Lead Counsel.Capacity to manage a substantial case load.Comfortable working in a remote environment and willing to travel throughout Hampton Roads metropolitan area (Virginia Beach, Norfolk, Newport News, and nearby cities).Proficient with computers, including Microsoft Office, LexisNexis, TeamConnect, internet research tools, and other legal case management software.Able to handle cases filed throughout the State of Virginia.BenefitsExceptional Work‑Life Balance: In‑house litigation roles provide more predictable schedules.Professional Growth Opportunities: ample opportunities for advancement and professional development.Holistic Understanding of the Business: gain insight into diverse business operations.Direct Client Collaboration: collaborate directly with internal stakeholders and business units.Strategic Influence and Impact: shape strategic decisions and risk management initiatives.Diverse Legal Challenges: broad spectrum of legal work beyond traditional litigation, including regulatory compliance, risk assessment, and dispute resolution.CompensationCompensation offered for this role is $90,700.00 – $153,925.00 annually, based on experience and qualifications.Legal and EEO StatementThe candidate(s) offered this position will be required to submit to a background investigation.
