Under general supervision, this position is responsible for operating, maintaining and/or providing assistance with the operation and maintenance of the Water Treatment and Distribution Systems. Reports to the Lead Water Treatment Plant Operator. ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS Obtains water samples and performs required laboratory tests to ensure proper treatment; calculates chemical dosages and mixes solution; regulates raw water, the distribution water flow rate and collects and evaluates water samples at each stage of treatment. Assists with the operation of a water treatment plant, and records data regarding treatment plant and distribution system including pressures, tank levels, flow rates and water quality using a computerized system; adjusts system pressures and tank levels through the use of high service pumps and booster stations.
