The City of Norfolk's Department of Utilities is seeking qualified candidates for an Utility Maintenance Mechanic III in the Water Production Division. This person performs electrical and mechanical repairs on equipment, including installation, diagnosis, repairs, and preventive maintenance. Troubleshoots and makes repairs on electrical and mechanical equipment, including high voltage equipment. Essential Functions Essential functions include but are not limited to: Maintains equipment by conducting major repairs to all air cooled compressors including repairing compressors, out front mowers, weed eaters, blowers and emergency equipment. Conducts minor repairs by performing daily maintenance on frequently used equipment. Performs related duties by conducting winter maintenance during the "off season", and doing minor electric work for building maintenance, turns valves to maintain water flow to the water plants.
