Overview
We are seeking a Senior Technology Technician with deep, hands-on experience across networking, servers, cloud platforms, and security systems. This role is designed for a highly capable candidate who can operate independently, solve complex problems quickly, and lead by example in both technical execution and customer experience.
You will serve as a senior escalation point, project lead, and mentor supporting both client environments and internal team growth.
Key Responsibilities
- Independently design, configure, and troubleshoot complex IT environments
- Serve as the escalation point for advanced networking, server, and cloud issues
- Lead infrastructure deployments, upgrades, and migrations
- Support and optimize Microsoft 365 and Azure environments
- Install, configure, and troubleshoot physical and virtual server systems
- Deliver exceptional customer service in both remote and onsite engagements
- Train, mentor, and elevate Tier 1 and Tier 2 technicians
- Maintain clear documentation and communicate effectively with clients and internal teams
Technical Expertise (Required)
Advanced Networking
- Expert-level configuration and troubleshooting across Cisco, Meraki, Dell, HP ProCurve, Aruba, Ubiquiti, and similar networking platforms to include but not limited to VLANs, routing, VPNs, firewall configuration, and network segmentation
Servers & Virtualization
- Physical server hardware deployment and troubleshooting
- Virtualization platforms: VMware ESXi and Microsoft Hyper-V
- Storage systems: Synology NAS Dell EMC or similar
- Backup, replication, and disaster recovery strategies
Microsoft Cloud & Azure
- Deep, hands-on administration of Microsoft 365 (Exchange, SharePoint, Teams, Intune, Entra ID/Azure AD)
- Azure infrastructure to include Virtual networks, Virtual machines, and Identity and access management
- Ability to design, deploy, and troubleshoot without supervision
Security & Access Control Systems
- Experience with physical security and access control platforms: Paxton Net2, ProdataKey, Turing, Milestone, Axis, Hikvision, and similar
- Understanding of full system deployment including controllers, cameras, cabling, and integration
Peripherals
- Familiarity with both software and hardware aspects of printers, scanners, and copiers
- Proficient in analyzing internal components to diagnose and address physical hardware issues
Telephony
- Hands-on administration of Avaya Cloud Office, including user provisioning, call routing, auto attendants, and system optimization
- Strong working knowledge of Avaya IP Office, including system configuration, SIP trunking, extensions, hunt groups, and on-prem integration
- Ability to troubleshoot voice quality issues (latency, jitter, packet loss) and perform network-level diagnostics to resolve VoIP performance problems
- Experience migrating legacy telephony systems to cloud-based platforms with minimal downtime
Requirements
- Minimum 10 years of senior-level IT experience
- Proven ability to independently configure and troubleshoot complex systems
- Strong customer-facing communication and documentation skills
- Experience working in multi-client environments (MSP experience preferred)
- Ability to lead projects and mentor team members
- Microsoft Azure Solutions Architect Expert Certification
- Microsoft 365 Administrator Expert Certification
- Cisco Certified Network Associate, or equivalent
