M1 Support Services, LP1500 Solana Blvd Suite 5200Westlake, TX 76262m1services.comAircraft Mechanic I (Power Plants A/D)Location Norfolk, VAJob Posting No 114026outsidebar) to the bottom of the pageand click on the "Apply for thisposition" button.Start Date 06/22/2026Contract CFT NorfolkSalary Range $38.74/HourPosting Date .05/05/2026Union YesFLSA Status Non-ExemptShift Work Possible FT/PT Full-timeRelocation NoTravel PossibleJob Summary:M1 is looking for an Aircraft Mechanic I (Power Plants A/D)Primary responsibilities include but are not limited to the following:* Aircraft Mechanics I must have a combination of experience to repair engines, sheet metal, structural,hydraulic, electrical, power train and general mechanical maintenance of moderate difficulty, required tomeet the assigned missions.* Makes repairs to aircraft and follows direction of higher graded workers.* The Aircraft Mechanic I troubleshoots malfunctions in aircraft structure, landing gear, flight surfaces andcontrols, anti- icing, pneudraulic, engines, auxiliary power unit, and ventilation and heating systems.* This mechanic repair, replaces, and rebuilds aircraft structures, such as wings and fuselage, and functionalcomponents including rigging, surface controls, and plumbing and hydraulic units, using hand tools, powertools, machines, and equipment such as shears, sheet metal brake, welding equipment, rivet gun, anddrills.* This worker reads and interprets manufacturers' and airline's maintenance manuals, service bulletins,technical data, engineering data, and other specifications to determine feasibility and method of repairingor replacing malfunctioning or damaged components.* Work involves replacing or repairing worn or damaged components, such as carburetors, alternators,magnetos, fuel controls, fuel pumps, oil pumps, and engine mounted gearboxes, and compressor bleedvalves using hand tools, gauges, and testing equipment; removing engine from aircraft, using hoist or forklifttruck, disassembling and inspecting parts for wear, cracks, security, or other defects, and repairing orreplacing defective engine parts and reassembles and installs engine in aircraft.* Job duties require that this mechanic adjusts, repairs, or replaces electrical wiring system and aircraftaccessories, performs preflight, thru-flight, and post- flight maintenance inspections, performsmiscellaneous duties to service aircraft, including flushing crankcase, cleaning screens and filters, greasingmoving parts, and checking brakes.* Supervises the jacking and towing of aircraft, enters in the maintenance records description of the workperformed and verifies the work was performed satisfactorily, service engines and airframe components atline station making repairs, short of overhaul, required to keep aircraft in safe operating condition,specialize in work, repair and modification of structural, precision, and functional spare parts andassemblies, and specialize in engine repair.Qualifications and Experience:* Previously attended Aviation Machinist Mate (AD) "A" School or equivalent* Aviation Machinist Mate (AD)* Three (3) years O-Level experience on E-2C aircraft as an Aviation Machinist Mate (AD)* Collateral Duty Inspector (CDI) experience.* Some travel is required.Page 2of 2* Must be able to work flexible schedule as required.* Must be able to climb ladders, raised platforms, and perform maintenance on top of and underneathaircraft.* Must be eligible for a Common Access Card (CAC)Working Conditions:* Environment ranges from office to hangar and flight line and requires extensive climbing, standing,stooping, bending, pushing, kneeling, stretching, and walking demands.M1 Support Services, headquartered in Westlake, Texas provides a variety of professional, technical, and maintenance services to theDepartment of Defense and government agencies.M1 Support Services is an equal opportunity employer.
