Description:

ResponsibilitiesThe Financial Accounting Analyst is responsible for ensuring the accuracy, completeness, and consistency of general ledger activity across multiple entities. This role owns assigned balancesheet accounts, performs detailed reconciliations, investigates discrepancies, and partners with operational teams to improve financial accuracy at the source.Own monthly reconciliation of assigned balance sheet accounts, including complex accountsInvestigate and resolve discrepancies between subledgers and the general ledgerIdentify root causes of mis-postings and recurring issues and recommend corrective actionsPrepare and post adjusting journal entries with appropriate supporting documentationReview financial activity across entities to ensure proper accounting treatmentPartner with AP, AR, payroll, and operational teams to improve coding accuracy and reduce errorsMonitor trends and recurring issues; escalate systemic concernsAssist in developing and maintaining accounting procedures and documentationSupport audit processes, including preparation of schedules and responses to auditor inquiriesEnsure compliance with GAAP and internal policiesContribute to continuous improvement of accounting processes and controlsOther duties as assignedQualificationsRequired QualificationsBachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance or related fieldMinimum 3 years of progressive accountingexperience, including general ledger and multi-entity environmentsIf driving for, or on behalf of, any ECS subsidiary, a valid driver's license is requiredStrong analytical and problem-solving capabilitiesAbility to work independently and take ownership of assigned areasAdvanced proficiency in Excel and accounting systemsStrong understanding of GAAP and financial reportingEffective communication skills across accounting and non-accounting teamsAbility to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environmentAbout UsECS Group of Companies (ECS) was founded in 1988 with the goal to raise the standards of professional engineering consulting.
