Description:

Job Title

Responsible for successful migration of legacy application in 3rd Party Cloud provider to the clients Managed AWS Cloud Environment Microsoft.Net w/ Service Fabric VMs to AWS EC2 / MSSQL Databases. Provide architecture support for AWS Hosted application for future features, responsible for maintaining / reducing application cloud costs.

Typical Day:

  • Weekly meetings with Migration Partner to ensure migration of Remote Fleet Vision Legacy application to cloud proceeds on plan.
  • Participate in Daily Stand-Up meetings to ensure committed work progresses and stays on plan.
  • Daily engagement with local Virginia Beach Team
  • Self-organize to ensure that new designs, architectures and generation of documentation is completed in the requested timely manner.

Technical Skills:

  • AWS managed services such as EC2, RDS, SNS, SQS, FSx, S3.
  • AWS Networking / VPC / Cyber Security
  • Working knowledge of Single page Web Application
  • Microsoft Service Fabric / MS SQL
  • End to End experience with Enterprise Application Architecture

Desired:

  • AWS Managed Services Lambda, Database, etc.
  • Working knowledge of IIS, EventHub, Apigee
  • Streaming / Event Based Architectures
  • Data Analytics / Machine Learning

Soft Skills Required:

  • Ability to communicate technical details to engineering teams to support execution.
  • Self Managing / Time management.
  • Ability to communicate to stakeholders without technical details.

Education Requirements:

  • BS Computer Science or similar field
  • 8 to 10 years of cloud experience, 3 -5 years AWS specific experience in real world experience, willing to include internships as experience needed.
  • Willing to accept a Masters Degree with less experience.
  • Associates degree accepted with more than 10 years experience.

Travel: 0-25% local and Houston
